This morning J.K. Rowling announced that she will be writing a trilogy of books based on teenage vampires.
The first book in the series, April’s Wings, will be released this time next year.
What do you think?
Will the Harry Potter author be able to successfully follow in the footsteps of Stephenie Meyer?

Oh Yes! Nuff said.
Yes. Will I read them? Probably not.
If this wasn’t April 1st, that idea is a license to print money. 🙂
Or was it an April fool? I think you got me!
I got all excited and then realised it was April 1st!
I think this must have been an April Fool, made me chortle though. I had the thought that if she did this it would be a bit like what happened when Madonna followed the Timbaland trend and it all went horribly wrong hahaha.
Congratulations to every one who spotted that this is an April fool!
Yeah, I wasn’t buying! I really would have lost faith if Rowling would have caved to this one!
Hilarious…
Okay that is the best joke I’ve heard yet. My only question is did you make it up, or did she publish that as a joke and you’re helping to spread it around?? 😀
Amanda, My husband and I made it up – we did worry that we didn’t actually know what she was writing at the moment and might get sued for leaking information by accidently guessing correctly!
😀 Your husband’s a genius then! I saw that in my GR and just cracked up laughing. Had to come comment. That’s just awesome.
Nice April’s Fool, Jackie! I inwardly groaned for a split-second.
Oh thank goodness this isn’t true! I was kind of surprised to hear that Rowling was going to jump on the vampire train, since it’s really oversaturated (in my opinion) all markets of late!
Great April Fools joke!
Ha! She could write anything right now and people would read it!
I am sooooo gullible. But you have to be got once on April 1st!!! (Excuses, excuses) What a brilliant wheeze – well done to you and your OH.
Annabel, Sorry! It just shows your trusting nature – I think that can only be a good thing!
I love this joke!
April Fool’s! But, she could probably pull it off!
Thank goodness this is an April Fools joke. I would gag at the thought of her stooping to Vampires. I am so sick of Vampires.

Well done, Jackie. April’s Wings really does capture the, er, spring-like feel of a truly gifted vampiricist.
You’re funny. I like the title! If I hadn’t seen Woot and Google’s April Fool’s Day pranks today, I would totally have fallen for this. 🙂

oh I believed it, but then I also believed Yahoos jake that the clocks were going forward again tonight due to bad weather.
I’d believe anything – even if it is off the internet
ahahahahahahahahahhaha
Superly giggletastic 🙂
Very good April fools! I was thinking when I saw it, “Like the world needs another set of vampire books!” I’m so tired of vampires in pop culture.
Nice one 😉
Hahahaha! I could not believe JK Rowling would write a book with the title APRIL’S WINGS!! LOL!!
You’re SO funny! For a minute there I was imagining how much better they’d be than the Twilight series (which I couldn’t stand).
Good try!
And IF Rowling should choose to write one, she might even be able to hook me 😀
Never read Harry Potter or Twillight. I know, I know:)
Haha, nice one. I did google it, just to ensure it was not an April Fool’s prank. Nice one, although if Rowling did write a vampire trilogy, I might actually finish it, as opposed to the horror show that was Stephanie Mayer’s Twilight.
I do wonder what Rowling is working on…. Although I’m working my way through Terry Pratchetts at the moment, so I’m okay for fantasy!
I was definitely disappointed in JK for a moment. Good one!
Thank goodness this isn’t true! I love Harry Potter but am burnt out on the whole vampire thing…enough already!
LOL!!!!
‘sides, she should know that fallen angels are the new rage amongst teens now!
LOL! I had to investigate all the comments when I saw that you posted this on April 1 🙂
I’m reading blogs very late but oh my you sure got me on the April Fools. I even went online to verify it…
How interesting! I hadn’t heard this but I’m willing to go whereever she wants to take me!
