J.K. Rowling to Write Vampire Trilogy

This morning J.K. Rowling announced that she will be writing a trilogy of books based on teenage vampires.

The first book in the series, April’s Wings, will be released this time next year.

What do you think?

Will the Harry Potter author be able to successfully follow in the footsteps of Stephenie Meyer?

I think this must have been an April Fool, made me chortle though. I had the thought that if she did this it would be a bit like what happened when Madonna followed the Timbaland trend and it all went horribly wrong hahaha.

Okay that is the best joke I’ve heard yet. My only question is did you make it up, or did she publish that as a joke and you’re helping to spread it around?? 😀

Amanda, My husband and I made it up – we did worry that we didn’t actually know what she was writing at the moment and might get sued for leaking information by accidently guessing correctly!

Oh thank goodness this isn’t true! I was kind of surprised to hear that Rowling was going to jump on the vampire train, since it’s really oversaturated (in my opinion) all markets of late!

Great April Fools joke!

Thank goodness this is an April Fools joke. I would gag at the thought of her stooping to Vampires. I am so sick of Vampires.

You’re funny. I like the title! If I hadn’t seen Woot and Google’s April Fool’s Day pranks today, I would totally have fallen for this. 🙂

oh I believed it, but then I also believed Yahoos jake that the clocks were going forward again tonight due to bad weather.

I’d believe anything – even if it is off the internet

Very good April fools! I was thinking when I saw it, “Like the world needs another set of vampire books!” I’m so tired of vampires in pop culture.

You’re SO funny! For a minute there I was imagining how much better they’d be than the Twilight series (which I couldn’t stand).

Haha, nice one. I did google it, just to ensure it was not an April Fool’s prank. Nice one, although if Rowling did write a vampire trilogy, I might actually finish it, as opposed to the horror show that was Stephanie Mayer’s Twilight.

I do wonder what Rowling is working on…. Although I’m working my way through Terry Pratchetts at the moment, so I’m okay for fantasy!

Thank goodness this isn’t true! I love Harry Potter but am burnt out on the whole vampire thing…enough already!
