Review Policy

I love reading and am happy to accept review copies from publishers, but due to the large number of books I receive I cannot guarantee to review every book sent to me.

I enjoy literary and mainstream fiction – especially books that are thought provoking or deal with moral issues, autism or parenting. I prefer my books to be plot based, with well developed characters, and I especially like books in translation. I am also keen on prize-winning books and love reading prize winners from around the world. I enjoy listening to audio books and finding new recipes from cook books.

I do not accept review copies from authors as I believe this relationship is too close and can lead to difficult situations, especially when I do not enjoy the book in question.

I’m not a fan of short stories, memoirs or poetry, and do not like receiving YA , science fiction, crime, historical fiction or romance for review. I do not accept self-published books for review and do not take part in blog tours.

My favourite books include: A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry, We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver, Ingenious Pain by Andrew Miller, Fingersmith by Sarah Waters and Blindness by Jose Saramago.

If you’d like to contact me, please use the contact form in the top right hand corner of my blog.
