Win a signed copy of Solar by Ian McEwan

I have one signed copy of Solar to give away to a lucky reader of my blog. There are also 3 Solar T-shirts for the runner-ups.

To have a chance of winning just answer the following question in the comments section of my blog:

Who do you think will win the Booker prize this year?

The competition is open Internationally!

The closing date is: Saturday 27th March at midnight GMT.

Winners will be picked at random and notified by email.

Good luck!

Hmmm….. I think it could be Rose Tremain’s Trespass. Her books are wonderful and hopefully, this year will be her year.

I honestly do not know. Solar seems to be in front right now, but The Long Song by Andrea Levy is also a very strong contender. If I *had* to choose, I’d go with The Long Song.

Unable to enter my own giveaway, I’m going to enter yours!

This has simply got to be David Mitchell’s year – everything I read about “Thousand Autumns” is superb. I can’t wait to read it myself.

Oh dear, I really don’t even know who’s in the running for this year’s Booker. I suppose Solar, but I imagine Yann Martel will be a contender as well. But I’d love to win a signed copy of Solar!! I love McEwan.

Much as I would love to be original, I can’t see beyond David Mitchell and Jon McGregor this year, so I’ll go for a tricksy answer instead: Patrick O’Brian to win the Lost Man Booker Prize for 1970 with Master and Commander. Well, you didn’t specify *which* Booker prize!

I’m hoping for David Mitchell. I absolutely love his books! I thought the Children’s Book was shortlisted last year. So it can’t win can it?

Simon Mawer – The Glass Room was a fantastic read! I highly recommend it and also think he has a great chance to win the Booker Prize this year, Cheers

I want to pick one not listed, so I’m going with Roddy Doyle’s The Dead Republic. An unlikely winner, I know. I’m really hoping the third book in the trilogy is more like A Star Called Henry and a lot less like Oh, Play that thing.

I’ll go for Tremain, McEwan and Levy being longlisted, possibly Joanne Harris, but not sure about the winner. Maybe a science fiction book will be submitted after Kim Stanley Robinson’s New Scientist article last year?

I’m thinking The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet. Thanks for the giveaway.

I am no good whatsoever at predicting book award winners, except for Olive Kitteridge for the Pulitzer. And this year’s Oscars.

I think Yan Martell will win – but it’s a long time away and anything could happen between now and then

I am going to go with Joshua Ferris’ ‘The Unnamed’ – but Solar could be a contender if McEwan is still in his stride!

Thanks,

Louisa
