How bad is it when your 17 year old has actually heard of the word “anatidaephobia”?

Loved the links – I had already sent the interview off to a friend who found it answered many of her questions.

PBurt, I’d never heard of the word anatidaephobia before so your 17 year old has an impressive knowledge of phobias 🙂 Not sure if that is good or bad!!

I’m glad you mentioned cooking with Pooh – that still makes us chuckle! We recently did a Winnie the Pooh jigsaw and it was punctuated by remarks like “I think I’ve got a bit of Poo”.

Book covers made from lego also fun!

The duck ad placement is hilarious! I don’t know if you’ve ever seen any of the adverts … they always feature the duck loudly quacking “AFLAC!!” which I imagine could double the terror for anatidaephobia sufferers!

Laura, I didn’t realise that anatidaephobia existed before I saw that page. I haven’t seen the AFLAC adverts, but I think anatidaephobia sufferers have a lot of reasons to avoid watching TV at the moment. Ducks seem to be everywhere!! 🙂

I love this post Jackie! So many interesting links! I checked out what scientists rated and wasn’t too surprised about all the references to 2001. But I’ve yet to read ‘Dune’ which I remember one of my astrophysics friends was into at uni.

I watched the trailer of Water for Elephants and was confused to see a clip in there from the movie Vanity Fair. Then I realized it’s a fan-made trailer using clips from other films. I’ve been confused by them before.

I can’t say I was the biggest fan of Water for Elephants, so I don’t know that I’ll be checking out the film, but maybe for curiosity’s sake.
